OBJECTIVE
The Private Practice Experience in Dentistry is designed to give high school and college students the opportunity to learn the clinical and business aspects of a real world
dental practice. More than just a shadowing experience, The Private Practice Experience will immerse you in the day-to-day operation of a dental practice. With our 3:1 participant-to-mentor ratio,
students will learn from lectures, presentations, hands-on exercises, and chairside involvement in actual dental procedures. Not only will it build your resume, but it will give you first hand
experience necessary in making an educated career choice.

THE EXPERIENCE
Level 1 is a 2-day program limited to 10 participants. Held annually at our private practice in East Islip, NY. Students will:
- attend lectures & presentations from university faculty and current dental students
- perform cavity preparations using high-speed handpieces in actual dental operatories
- scan and create CAD/CAM Cerec restorations
- place fillings using state-of-the-art Sonicfil composite
- make surgical incisions, place a dental implant and stitches on a typodont
- perform root canal techniques on typodonts
- begin the mentor-mentee relationship with faculty for future development
