David Forlano, DDS
Dr. Forlano was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He was certain about pursuing a career in Dentistry while attending Xavier High School in New York City where he discovered a passion for art and science. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Fordham University in 1985 and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Forlano is one of very few dentists to achieve Fellowships in three different dental disciplines; General Dentistry, Implantology and Orthodontics. His diverse experience allows him to treat the entire masticatory system, not just a tooth. His private practice ranks in the top 5% across the nation.
Dr Forlano has earned Diplomate status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, is on Faculty at New York University College of Dentistry and is the founder of Chairside Implant Services, the Comprehensive Dental Assessment and Executive Dental Health.
His passion for learning and sharing knowledge is exemplified through The Private Practice Experience in Dentistry.
Evelyn Baran, DDS
Dr. Baran was born in Queens, NY. She received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and continued her graduate education at Long Island University receiving a Masters in Biomedical Sciences. She then continued her professional education at New York University College of Dentistry, followed by postgraduate training at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Dr. Baran completed the two-year program in Surgical & Prosthetic Implantology at NYU, where she now serves as a Clinical Associate. Dr. Baran maintains a private practice in Manhattan.
Dr. Baran maintains a high level of dental excellence through extensive continuing education and training in all aspects of general, cosmetic & implant dentistry and shares her knowledge as a mentor to prospective dentists at The Private Practice Experience.
Lou Bartimmo, DMD
Dr. Bartimmo received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University and his dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Bartimmo was an Associate Clinical Instructor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He has developed practices in Massachusetts, Texas, and New York and maintains current licenses in these states. Dr. Bartimmo maintains a private practice in Manhasset, NY where he incorporates pediatric dentistry and dental implantology into his general practice which provides a complete scope of cosmetic and general dental procedures, including veneers, crowns, and restorative procedures. Dr. Bartimmo has consistently attended continuing education classes and is a Board of Trustees officer member of the Executive Council and Past President of the NY State Academy of General Dentistry (NYSAGD). As well as private practice, Dr. Bartimmo is an Expert Witness and consultant for legal council concerning dental malpractice cases.
Karen Bergonio, DDS
Dr. Karen Bergonio received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she was part of the 7 year BS-DDS program. She graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2004. In 2005, she took over her family’s practice in Nanuet, NY and then in 2008, she opened an additional office in Hasbrouck Heights. Through ongoing education, she continues to be on top of the latest technologies and materials in dentistry. Dr. Bergonio believes in serving her community. She has participated in outreach programs aboard, helping people in under served communities. Dr. Bergonio has been serving as a mentor at The Private Practice Experience since 2018.
Dorothy Cutolo, DDS
Dr. Cutolo was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where she attended John Dewey High School. She graduated from Lafayette College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She continued her education at Georgetown University School of Dentistry where she received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Cutolo then completed a general practice residency at the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and then became an attending on staff at the hospital.
Dr. Cutolo established her own general dental private practice in Massapequa, NY. She has developed excellent working relationships with the dental specialists in her community. Dr. Cutolo enjoys teaching and encouraging students to pursue a career in dentistry. She has mentored several college students in her own practice giving them insight into the art of dentistry along with running a business and finding a balance with family life. It is this passion and insight that Dr. Cutolo will bring to The Private Practice Experience.
Marta Herin, DDS
Joining The PPE mentorship team in 2019, Dr. Marta Herin is a graduate of Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Herin's path towards dentistry started over 13 years ago when she began serving as a dental assistant and dental hygienist. Inspired to advance in the field, Dr. Herin attended Stony Brook where she completed a residency in General Dentistry. In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Herin conducts research in the field of Dental Implantology.
Lewis Ricciuti, DDS
Dr. Ricciuti graduated CW Post College, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University School of Dentistry with Honors in Operative Excellence. He has attended several post graduate continuing education continuums, including endodontics at Boston University under the guidance of Dr. Herbert Schilder, innovator of several gold standard endodontic techniques and instruments, as well as Dr. Stephen Buchanan, innovator and educator of the most current endodontic techniques and instruments. He has completed several mini residencies in dental implantology including the Nobel Biocare Mini Residency, the Zimmer Institute Mini Residency, and the Pikos Institute. His multi-doctor private practice, 4 Excellence in Dentistry, is located in Levittown, NY.
Jeffrey A. Sherman, DDS
An internationally recognized authority in the field of radio and electrosurgery, Dr. Jeffrey Sherman returns for a second year as a PPE mentor. Dr. Sherman is the past president of the American Academy of Dental Electrosurgery, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Electrosurgery as well as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Sherman has over one thousand lectures both nationally and internationally. Dr. Sherman is a past president of the Suffolk County Dental Society as well as General Chairman for the Greater Long Island Dental Meeting.
Felipe Vargas, DDS
Dr. Felipe S. Vargas graduated from New York University in 1993 and has been in the dental field for over 40 years. Dentistry runs in the family line for Dr. Vargas, who was taught by his father and began serving his community before the age of thirteen. As a result, the doctor is highly trained in the arts of science and dentistry. He loves working with different kinds of people of all ages in order to provide the best dental treatment possible. Dr. Vargas joined The PPE mentorship team in 2019 where he specialized in the orthodontics hands-on sessions.
